Illegal drinking water lines have been prevented in a number of facilities located in Garadagh region

In accordance with the Action Plan on ensuring the efficient use of water resources approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, control measures are being continued to detect illegal drinking water supply, minimize water losses and prevent wastage. Illegal drinking water lines were detected in a number of objects during the control measures carried out by the employees of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency in Garadagh region.

During the inspection of the water supply system of the supermarket operating in Mushfigabad settlement, it was found that the facility does not have technical condition to connect to the water supply system and the contract was not concluded. The water supply of the supermarket was carried out through a line connected to the network illegally.

All illegal lines and connections discovered during the control measures were cut and canceled.

The State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan brings to the citizens' attention and entrepreneurs that illegal and off-meter use of drinking water causes violations of hydraulic regimes in networks, serious water losses, and deterioration of water supply to other subscribers living in those areas. In order to prevent such illegal situations, measures will be continued regularly, arbitrarily drawn and off-meter lines will be canceled, and law enforcement agencies will be contacted to take strict control measures against individuals and legal entities who commit these acts.

It should be noted that in 2023, 15,533 cases of illegal use of drinking water were detected and prevented in Garadag district.
