The "Project on reconstruction and expansion of water supply and sewage systems in Khirdalan city"


Reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems in Khirdalan city is carried out within the framework of the project "Reconstruction and expansion of water supply and sewerage systems of Khirdalan city" jointly financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and the Saudi Fund for Development. The project is designed to improve 200, 000 residents’ drinking water supply and sewerage services in Khirdalan, with perspective development up to 2035.

Work on the first stage of the project started in July 2017. According to the project, “+118 Absheron” and “82 Masazir” reservoirs with a capacity of 10 cubic meters each and 6,5 km long transmission main were constructed to provide Khirdalan town with sustainable and quality drinking water.

A 168 km distribution water network was constructed in the city of Khirdalan; 17650 addresses were merged to the network and meters were installed. 83 km of 105 km sewer network has been constructed in Khirdalan, 7300 houses were provided with mergers, 2424 sewer wells were built. The construction of water network on the first stage of the project had been completed at the end of 2019 and the construction of the sewage networks is underway.
