Preparations for Formula 1 competitions are in progress

The affairs to ensure the stability of the drinking and waste water systems in the areas where the races are held, sports, tourism, public catering facilities in connection with the Formula 1 races to be held in Baku on April 28-30, 2023 is being continued.  

To prepare for the event at a high level and to promptly solve the problems that may arise, a commission was established at the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency and the Action Plan was approved. At the same time, a working group was created for the purpose of operative and coordinated work.

In accordance with the Action Plan, monitoring and evaluation work were carried out in order to ensure the normal functioning of the drinking and waste water infrastructures in the areas where the competitions will be held and to promptly eliminate possible accidents. In these areas, the operational condition of the drawers on the drinking water lines was checked. All drawer wells and fire hydrants along the route have been inspected and measures have been taken to ensure that existing sumps and fire hydrants are in working condition.

At the same time, trainings for exemplary accident-recovery brigades on accident elimination were held. 152 employees of "Baku Sukanal", Sabail, Yasamal and Nasimi Sukanal Offices participated in the training. Information on prompt elimination of accidents, labor safety and other issues was provided within the training. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the employees involved in the training participated in practical exercises.
