A Memorandum of Understanding is signed between "Azersu" OJSC and Israel's National Water Company - "Mekorot"

The 3rd meeting of the Joint Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Israel was held in Baku on April 19. It was noted that Azerbaijan-Israel relations are developing dynamically in various fields within the meeting. It was stated that there are wide prospects for cooperation in investment, innovations, information, agriculture, ecology, food, water, energy technologies, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, food safety, cyber security, tourism, small and medium entrepreneurship and other fields and to realize this potential, private the sector should increase its activity.

At the 3rd session of the Azerbaijan-Israel Joint Commission, issues of expanding cooperation with Israel in investment, innovations, ecology, information, water, energy, agriculture, food technology industry, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, food safety, cyber security, tourism, small and medium entrepreneurship and other fields were discussed, a number of documents were signed.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between "Azersu" Open Joint Stock Company and Israel's National Water Company - "Mekorot" is aimed at improving the legislative framework in the field of water supply and sanitation, improving waste and rainwater management systems,  professional training targeted in processing and reusing waste water, planning and innovation, technical-economic justification and transfer of technological innovations, experience, assessment of the current situation, cooperation in the field of application of the most modern advanced international practices in Azerbaijan, taking into account local conditions. The document was signed by Kocharli Hasanov, acting chairman of "Azersu" OJSC, and Yossi Yaacoby, vice-president of the Israel National Water Company.

The meeting also saw the signing of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of environmental protection between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Israel, the Joint Declaration in the field of technological innovation between the Innovation and Digital Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Institute of Technological Innovation of the State of Israel and the Agreement between SOCAR and the Israeli company "Union Energy".
