Cases of illegal use of water were discovered in a number of facilities in Absheron region

Control measures to prevent water losses and wastage in accordance with the Action Plan for ensuring efficient use of water resources approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev were implemented in Absheron district. During the investigations, it was found out that despite a water meter in the "Zirva" restaurant operating in the AAAF Park residential complex in the city of Khirdalan, the owner of the facility used the water illegally through a 32 mm diameter pipe that he built on his own.

Illegal use of water was also discovered at the facility of sale of decorative trees operating in the area called Hokmeli circle. The owner of the facility made an illegal connection to the nearby line without obtaining technical conditions and signing a contract.

Detected illegal lines and connections are canceled. The owners of the facility were informed about the legal connection to the water network and were told that the illegal and wasteful drinking water supply leads to the violation of hydraulic regimes in the networks, serious water losses and deterioration of the water supply of other residents living in those areas. To prevent such illegal situations, measures will be continued regularly, arbitrarily drawn and off-meter lines will be canceled.

It should be noted that in January-March 2023, 2639 facts related to the illegal use of drinking water were detected by "Azersu" Open Joint Stock Company and 73 in Absheron region. In connection with the discovered facts, the consumption of 822 thousand cubic meters of "Azersu" Open Joint Stock Company and 27 thousand cubic meters of Absheron region was restored. In January-March 2023, more than 50 facts related to the illegal use of drinking water were submitted to law enforcement agencies for investigation.
