To improve the supply of drinking water to the population, "Azersu" Open Joint Stock Company continues the implementation of projects to improve the water supply of multi-apartment residential buildings in Yasamal district. Currently, the neighborhood water supply systems of multi-apartment residential buildings located in Yeni Yasamal 1 residential area and Sharifzade Street are being updated.

In May-June 2022, the internal water supply systems of the buildings of these addresses were reconstructed, the vertical supports passing through the shafts were removed and installed to the stair cages, new house connections were given to 990 apartments and new meters were installed. After that, the renewal of distribution networks within the neighborhood was started. According to the new project, 2.6 km long water lines are laid in the courtyards of the buildings with polyethylene pipes of different diameters and connected to the entrance lines of the buildings. New pumps will be installed at the existing pumping station within the framework of the project on Sharifzade Street.

It should be noted that the internal water supply systems of those apartment buildings built in the Soviet era were installed in pits. Since the vertical props have been in operation for a long time, there were some cases of water leaks. This caused water leaks in apartments and basements. The presence of meters inside the apartments sometimes made it difficult to read them on time, creating problems for proper accounting.

The removal of indoor water supply systems from the shafts to the stair cages and the reconstruction of the intra-neighborhood network will prevent water flows into the basements of buildings, reduce water losses and improve the quality of service. Removing counters to stairwells in each apartment will help to keep accurate records, collect service fees on time and avoid receivables.

It should be noted that since 2013, indoor water supply systems have been transferred to the balance of "Azersu" OJSC and in the past period, internal water supply systems of more than 6,000 multi-apartment residential buildings in the Absheron Peninsula and regions have been reconstructed at the expense of state investments.
