The Dutch consulting company Witteveen Bos was also involved in the preparation of feasibility studies and design documents for the creation and reconstruction of drinking, waste and rain water systems in Shusha. A presentation held at “Azersu” OJSC was attended by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha Aydin Karimov, “Azersu” OJSC’s administration and specialists, specialists from the company “Iqlim”, which is preparing the project.

Representatives of the consulting company brought to attention that water sources, reservoir and distribution networks of Shusha, water quality, wastewater management and environmental issues were taken into account developing the project. The daily water demand of Shusha is estimated at 6,000 cubic meters. It is proposed to divide Shusha into 8 different pressure zones, provide 2 zones with hydrophore pumps and 6 zones with self-flowing water for sustainable water supply. In addition to the existing reservoir to feed the pressure zones, the construction of two new storage facilities is being considered. In terms of relief, it is planned to use pressure suppressant to eliminate excess pressure in the water supply of depressions.

The whole territory of Shusha will be provided with a sewerage network. A wastewater treatment plant will be built in the eastern part of the city, in a low-lying area.

The project will be discussed again in a working manner with the participation of experts.
