A presentation held on the implementation of drinking water supply projects and the work to be done in Neftchala region

A presentation was held on the implementation of drinking water supply projects in Neftchala city and villages of the region and the work to be done in 2022.

The head of Neftchala District Executive Power Mirhasan Seyidov noted that in accordance with the President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, to improve the supply of drinking water to the settlements of Neftchala a transmission main was built and the problem of drinking water in 14 settlements has already been resolved.

Etibar Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC, said that within the framework of the “Action Plan for 2020-2022 to ensure efficient use of water resources” approved by President Ilham Aliyev, construction of a 40 km long transmission main from the Shirvan-Mugan group water pipeline to Neftchala and the a 7,500-cubic-meter reservoir near the city of Salyan were completed, in November 2020, water was supplied to the city of Neftchala and in 2021 to some villages near the transmission main and the city. At the same time, the reconstruction of drinking water supply systems in Neftchala has begun. The project implemented in stages, will be continued in 2022 and this year the construction of the city water network will be completed and water will be provided to some villages.

Jeyhun Mammadov, Deputy Head of the Planning and Design Department of “Azersu” OJSC, made a detailed presentation on the drinking water supply project for the settlements of Neftchala region. According to the State Investment Program, 100 km of drinking water lines will be laid in Neftchala in 2022 and meters will be installed in each house. In addition, it is planned to build 13 km of wastewater lines and one new sewage pumping station. With the commissioning of the new sewage pumping station, the operation of 9 pumping stations, which reached the end of their service life and often had accidents, will be suspended. In the next phase of the project, a wastewater treatment plant will be built in the city to build a sewerage network and treat the discharged wastewater.

     

A project to supply water to villages and settlements of Neftchala region has also been developed. For this purpose, some villages will be supplied water from the existing transmission main, some from the network of Salyan city and others from the part of the Shirvan-Mugan group water pipeline passing through the Shorsulu area. A local solution plan was developed for some of the more remote villages and reverse-osmosis-type water treatment plants are planned to be installed in those villages. After the presentation, there was a wide exchange of views on the project, proposals from the district administration were heard. The final document will be prepared and submitted to the government, taking into account the proposals.
