The drinking water supply in Khidirli village, Aghdam region is restored

In accordance with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, “Azersu” OJSC continues to work on the restoration and reconstruction of water supply systems in the liberated territories. Urgent measures are being taken to supply water to the places that are inhabited in the liberated Khidirli village of Aghdam region.

According to the Coordination Headquarters established for the centralized settlement of issues in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the restoration of drinking water supply in Khidirli village, Aghdam region is carried out as a matter of urgency and covers the supply of drinking water to settlements. There were no drinking water supply systems in Khidirli village and surrounding areas before the occupation. Specialists of “Azersu” OJSC conducted research and assessment work and prepared a project to supply water to the village. According to the project, it was decided to supply drinking water to the facilities in the area from a sub- artesian well.

         

The project was launched late last year and the construction of a sub- artesian well, 6.5 km of transmission main and distribution water lines had been completed. Valve, air and sub-drainage systems are installed on the main water lines for optimal water management. Currently, installation of power supply systems for the commissioning of the sub-artesian well is in progress.

Earlier, 2 km of drinking water and 1.3 km of waste water lines were laid, a reservoir, a pumping station, infiltration and septic facilities were built in the Aghdam region as part of the Turkish-Russian joint monitoring center construction project.

At the same time, 2 exploration wells have been drilled to provide the city of Agdam and surrounding villages with sustainable and quality drinking water and research to establish a water source is underway.

In general, to improve the supply of drinking water in the liberated areas, as part of urgent measures taken by Azersu” OJSC, about 400 facilities were provided with drinking water.

At present, service areas of “Azersu” OJSC have been established and uninterrupted service has been organized in Shusha, Kalbajar, Zangilan cities and Hadrut settlement.
