“Azersu” OJSC continues to implement projects to improve the drinking water supply and sewerage services in Baku and surrounding settlements. In accordance with the Action Plan of the Company, new drinking and waste water networks are being established in the 3rd residential area, known as the landslide zone of Badamdar settlement, Sabail district, Baku. So far, primitive lines laid by the population have been abolished and replaced by a centralized system.

There was no centralized drinking water and sewerage network in most of the 3rd residential area of Badamdar settlement of Sabail district. The water lines laid by the population in a primitive way did not meet the operational requirements and often caused accidents. Due to the lack of a sewerage network, wastewater was discharged mainly to septic tanks. Taking into account all this, it was decided to completely reconstruct the drinking water and sewage networks in the area. In 2019-2020, 15 km of drinking and 20 km of waste water lines were built in the area. Since the end of last year, as a continuation of the project, the construction of 1.8 km of drinking water and 2 km of wastewater networks had been launched. At present, work is underway to provide house connections to 140 addresses.

In the areas where the new network is established, septic tanks will be abolished and the sewage lines of houses will be connected to the centralized network. Work on the project is expected to be completed in February. Upon completion of the construction of the sewerage network, the discharge of wastewater in this landslide area will be carried out in a centralized manner.

It should be noted that the drinking water supply and sewerage systems of the 1st and 2nd residential areas of Badamdar settlement were reconstructed within the project implemented jointly with the Government of Azerbaijan and the Saudi Development Fund. As part of the project, 45 km of drinking and 28 km of wastewater networks were built.
