Sustainable drinking water supply of Baku and its suburbs is regulated mainly by means of reservoirs and distribution networks located in various reliefs. Water brought from the sources to the capital is transmitted via the main lines to the reservoirs and then distributed to the network. The existing reservoirs, along with the provision of uninterrupted water supply to the population, also allow the accumulation of certain reserves.

According to the requirements, the reservoirs are washed and disinfected periodically and the water quality is monitored daily by the Central Laboratory. At the same time specialists of sanitary-epidemiological institutions regularly inspect the stocks.

Currently, there are 19 central reservoirs in Baku city:

“+91 Sulutepe” - the reservoir with a total volume of 33,600 cubic meters consists of 3 subdivisions.

"+132 North" - the reservoir with a total volume of 50,000 cubic meters consists of 4 subdivisions.

"+152 Alatava" – the reservoir with a total volume of 30,000 cubic meters consists of 3 sections.

  "+132 West" – the reservoir with a total volume of 26100 cubic meters consists of 3 sections.

"+82 West" - the reservoir with a total volume of 414,000 cubic meters consists of 5 sections.

"+41 West" - the reservoir consisting of 3 subdivisions, has a total volume of 39,800 cubic meters.

"+41 East" - the reservoir consisting of 6 sections, has a total volume of 93,000 cubic meters.

"+82 East" - the reservoir consisting of 16 sections, with a total area of 185,000 cubic meters.

"+23 Castle" - the reservoir consisting of 2 sections, the total volume is 20,000 cubic meters.

"+16 Tower" - the reservoir with a total volume of 10,000 cubic meters, consists of 1 unit.

“+25 Mashtaga” - the reservoir with a total capacity of 18,000 cubic meters consists of 3 sections.

"+98 Karachukur" - the reservoir with a total capacity of 20,000 cubic meters consists of 2 sections.

"+70 Dede Korgud" - the reservoir with a total volume of 20,000 cubic meters consists of 2 subdivisions.

"+32 Zira" - the reservoir consisting of 1 unit, has a total capacity of 10,000 cubic meters.

"Sangachal"- the reservoir with a total capacity of 24,000 cubic meters consists of 4 subdivisions.

"+118 Absheron" - the reservoir consisting of 2 subdivisions, has a total capacity of 20,000 cubic meters.

"+82 Balakhany" - the reservoir with a total capacity of 20,000 cubic meters consists of 2 sections.

"+54 Ramana" - the reservoir consisting of 1 unit, has a total volume of 10,000 cubic meters.

"+105 Saray" - the reservoir with a total volume of 20,000 cubic meters consists of 2 sections.

"+82 Masazir" - the reservoir consists of 1 unit, has a total capacity of 10,000 cubic meters.

In addition, there is an inter- blocks water reservoir with a total area of 120,000 cubic meters in Baku.
