Water supply and sewerage systems in Shamkir under reconstruction

          
 
    Inauguration ceremony took place on October 3 on the occasion with the reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems in Shamkir. Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov, Deputy Chairman of National Meeting Valeh Alasgarov, Shamkir region Executive Authority Nazim Veysov participated in the ceremony. G. Huseynov stated that reconstruction works were carried out at the expense of the state budget and residents of Shamkir will be supplied on a continuing basis with high quality water. Works on this project being a part of “State Program of Social-economic Development of the Regions” approved by the President Ilham Aliyev will be completed by the end of 2013.

   Considering population growth as of 2035 “Reconstruction project of water supply and sanitation systems of Shamkir” is estimated from 37,5 thousand to 45,7 thousand people. Using local underground water pipe and Shamkirchay reservoir constructed newly is the main target of the project for supplying Shamkir on a continuing basis with water by gravity. 4 Nos reservoirs with total capacity of 7200 cubic meters will be constructed on points high for conveying water by gravity. Water distributor network with total length of 195 km and sewerage system with length of 190 km are planned to construct in the city. Wastewater will be transmitted to Wastewater Treatment Plant will be constructed of edge of the city.
