“Azersu” OJSC is represented in exhibition “Independent Azerbaijan in 20 years”
National exhibition was organized on September 27 under the name of “Independent Azerbaijan in 20 years” dedicated to the 20th anniversary of restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan at Baku Expo Center.
Over 130 enterprises, organizations and companies are participating in the exhibition. Covering a total area of 11 000 m2 the exhibition demonstrates the progress Azerbaijan has made in the past 20 years, including spheres of industry, fuel and energy, information technology, water industry, agriculture, transport, ecology, tourism, construction, healthcare, education, culture, etc. As well as exhibits reflected the socio-economic development of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are displayed in the exhibition.
Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev informed President Ilham Aliyev about indicators for 2003-2011, a period of rapid economic development of our country. He also stated that the average annual growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounted 14% during these years including 9 % in the non-oil sector. The share of private sector in the GDP reached 81,7 %. Investment in the economy increased 2,4 times including foreign 1,5 fold and domestic 5,5 times. By the end of 2010 strategic currency reserves of the country increased more than 14 times to exceed 29 billion dollars.
The exhibition, in which “Azersu” OJSC is also represented, provides extensive information about country’s water supply sector in 20 years. The pavilion of the Stock Company is information about the projects carried out with the aim improving drinking water supply and sewerage services and videos about this project are shown.
Detailed information about Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline, the hugest project carried out in water supply sector in the independence years, as well as Jeyranbatan ultra-filtration Water Treatment Plants, Kur and Jeyranbatan Water Treatment Compounds, Hovsan Aeration Station is accommodated in the stands. The scheme of water supply of Absheron Peninsula, projects will be implemented in the forthcoming are presented to exhibitors.
