Water problem of Korgoz was solved
Inauguration of a new water pipeline took place on the eve of Ramadan holiday, August 26, in Korgoz settlement of Garadag district. The Head of Garadagh District Executive Authority Mr.Suleyman Mikayilov, Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Mr. Kocharli Hassanov, other senior officials, entrepreneurs and the inhabitants of the district were present at the inauguration.
Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Mr. Hassanov stated that “Urgent Action Plan” was prepared by the Company for improvement of water supply of population. As part of this Action Plan, design and cost estimation documents have been prepared and work has already stated on reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems in settlements and villages of Garadag district. In accordance with the action plan, works associated with water supply of Korgoz settlement commenced in the middle of July: In a very short time, 4,4 km long DN 250 water pipeline was laid and handed over to inhabitants of the settlement. This was an overall solution to the settlement’s water supply problem which lasted for ages. Sewerage problem of the settlement will be solved within two years according to “2011-2013 State Program for Socio-Economic Development of Baku and its settlements” approved by the President on May 4, 2011.
Kocharli Hassanov also noted that 8 km long DN 530 mm water pipeline was laid and commissioned in Lokbatan settlement of Garadag in accordance with the Urgent Action Plan. 80% of Lokbatan is now supply with drinking water on a permanent basis and the target is achieving the same in remaining 20% in the nearest future.
According to Deputy Chairman of “Azesru” OJSC, water supply and sewerage systems of 14 villages and settlements of Garadag will be reconstructed according to “2011-2013 State Program of Socio-economic Development of Baku and its settlements”. At the same time, 4 Nos wastewater treatment plants are planned to be constructed and put into operation in Garadag district. In this regard, work has already started on design and cost estimation. Design and cost estimation documents have been prepared for reconstruction of Wastewater Treatment Plants Compound located in Sahil settlement of district thereby supplying it with up-to-date equipment and increasing its productivity. These works will commence in near future and complete by the end of 2013.
The villagers who attended the inauguration thanked President Ilham Aliyev, “Azersu” OJSC and Executive Authority of the District for solution of water problem.
