Reconstruction work has been launched in Shamakhi by “Azersu”OJSC for the purpose of improving drinking water supply of the population. Following the Action Plan prepared by Azersu, 2 Nos artesian wells were drilled i.e. one in Sabir settlement and the other one in Angakharan. The water pumped from the well in Angakharan will feed the reservoir, which supplies drinking water to the center of settlement and from there on it will be transmitted to the distribution network. A 1300 m long DN160 pipeline has already been laid and presently connection is being undertaken between lines. At the same time, current status of distribution lines is being checked and water meters are being installed for ensuring safe water supply of flats in the center of district.

An artesian well drilled in Sabir settlement is intended to improve water supply of the settlement. For this purpose, 750 m long pipeline has already been laid in the settlement. Pipelines will be connected directly to the network after an additional 115 m long pipeline is laid.

It should be noted that the total capacity of newly drilled artesian wells is 50 m3/h. Implementation of this project will result in substantial improvement of drinking water supply of more than 600 subscribers in Shamakhi and Sabir settlement. Being implemented at the expense of Azersu’s internal operation costs, this project will soon be completed.
