Meter testing laboratory is established

    “Azersu” OJSC continues to carry out measures on installation of pre-paid smart-card water meters in order to ensure accurate of water, improve the quality of drinking water and sanitation service, increase the payment level, and preventing water-losses. In 2012 massive pre-paid smart-card water meter installation has been started. At the same time installation of flow meters in the boundary points of service areas of local Sukanal offices is continued.

  In addition to expanding metering work, routine maintenance of the pre-paid smart-card meters is of great importance. With this purpose “Azersu” OJSC has decided to establish meter testing laboratory.

   Presently finishing work is carried out in meter testing laboratory.  The laboratory building consists of repair and testing areas, storage, administrative and support parts. The laboratory building is provided with modern equipment and instruments produced in Turkey and Europe. 

   The testing services rendered by the Meter Testing Laboratory are of high quality, reliable and also comply with the relevant statutory requirements. Testing will be carried out on the specials tables installed in the laboratory.  In the laboratory the errors in water meters will be defined and pressure resistance of the meters at different flow rates will be tested. Special tables have been installed for testing and calibration of water meters and determine of pressure loss in the laboratory.

   It will be possible to taste totally 2700 water meter  per month. At the same time KROHNE electromagnetic flange and ABB electromagnetic flow meters will be tested comparing with installed ones.

   It should be noted that in accordance with State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent of the Republic of Azerbaijan residential water meters sould be, not less than once in 5 years, tested. Water meters used in the industry should be once a year tested.
