Water supply and sewerage systems in Dashkesen will be reconstructed

   Work on reconstruction of drinking water and sewerage systems in Dashkesen city to be launched in October 2014. In August 2014 bidding for selection of contractor will be held regarding implementation of “Support to the National Water Supply & Sanitation Program in six (6) regions” project funded by the Government of Azerbaijan and Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

   Garainek and Gulbulag water sources have been selected for supplying Dashkesen city and surrounding villages on a continuing basis with drinking water. A transmission main of 20km from the sources till Dashkesen city will be laid and 4Nos reservoirs with total capacity of 4500 cubic meters will be constructed in different places of the city taking into account the relief. In accordance with the project distributional lines of 18,3km will be built. 2500 house connections will be carried out and every house will be provided with water meters. The project is designed to improve drinking water supply and sewerage systems of 17 thousand people in Dashkesen city, as well as Alunitdag and Medenchiler villages.

    Following the project sewerage network will be constructed in Dashkesen city. A sewerage line of 21km and 4205 sewage wells will be constructed. At the same time fire-hydrants will be installed.  

   Note that “Support to the National Water Supply & Sanitation Program in six (6) regions” project includes reconstruction of drinking water supply and sanitation systems in Gedebey, Astara, Dashkesen, Gazakh, Samukh and Terter. Bidding procedures on Gedebey and Astara cities have been started.
