Vice-President of Asian Development Bank visited “Azersu” OJSC

   15 years have passed since Azerbaijan being a member of Asian Development Bank (ABD). In these years ADB has financed different projects on water supply, transport, energy, finance, education, health care in Azerbaijan. Among these projects reconstruction of drinking water and sewerage infrastructures projects are of great importance.

   A meeting was held with vice-president of Bank Wencai Zhang in “Azersu” OJSC.

  Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov recalled that 15 years of cooperation between ADB and Azerbaijan covers many areas. He also highly evaluated the role of ADB in reconstruction projects of drinking water supply and sewerage systems and said that for qualified implementation of “Water Supply and Sanitation Investment Program” all necessary measures have been taken.  

  Vice-president of ADB Wencai Zhang said that the Bank is interested in financing of infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan and highly evaluated cooperation in this field. He also noted that the Bank he represented is satisfied with the works carried out in the frame of “Water Supply and Sanitation Investment Program”.

   At the meeting some financing issues and status of the project have been discussed.

   Note that in the frame of “Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project” and “Water supply and Sewerage Investment Programs” financed by Azerbaijani Government and ADB water supply and sewerage systems in Beylegan, Agjabadi, Balaken, Agdash and Goychay will be reconstructed. Following these projects works are continued in Beylegan, Agdash and Goychay.
