Construction of Jeyranbatan ultra-filtration water treatment plant is nearing completion

   Construction of Jeyranbatan ultra-filtration water treatment plant, one the major projects carried out in the frame of State Program of Social-economic Development of Baku city and its settlements, is nearing completion. The plant which foundation was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on September 8, 2011 will contribute to supplying Baku and Absheron Peninsula the population on a continuing basis with high quality water.   

   In accordance with the project construction of ultra-filtration building, production lines, water-distributing chamber, raw-water reservoir has been completed. Construction of water intake facility and pipes, drinking water reservoir, pumping station, flowmeter installations is nearing completion. At the same time ultrafiltration membranes are preparing for installation in the ultrafiltration building. All these works are intended to be completely finished in the 3rd quarter.  Following the project 4800 ultrafiltration membranes with total productivity of 6m3/s or 520 thousand m3/day will be installed on the plant.

   Construction of transmission mains and reservoirs is continued with the purpose of supplying consumers with water that will be processed at the plant. Construction of one of the reservoirs with productivity of 20 thousand cubic meters has been finished in Hokmanli settlement and the other one will be completed soon. In parallel with this laying of transmission main of 11,2km from ultra-filtration plant to reservoirs has been completed. Note that following the project construction of Jeyranbatan-Balakhani-Ramana-Gala transmission main, Gala reservoir and a pipeline from this reservoir to Zira settlement has been completed. Balakhani and Zira reservoirs are nearing completion. Once the project is finished over 1 million people in Absheron Peninsula will be supplied with drinking water on “24 hours a day” basis.

   The latest technology and modern equipment manufactured in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Turkey is used in the construction of the plant.
