“Azersu” OJSC pays special attention to improvement of drinking water supply systems in the regions. Presently water supply and sewerage projects are continued in 38 towns/rayon centers and 350 villages across the country. New infrastructures are constructed in order to supply consumers with high quality drinking water on “24 hours a day” basis.

In accordance with “State Program on Socioeconomic Development in the Regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2009-2013” construction of Shirvan-Mugan integrated water pipeline is nearing completion. The source of Shirvan-Mugan integrated water pipeline that founded by President Ilham Aliyev on July 16 2012 is Kura Water Pipelines system. So far 100km section of the transmission main of 107km has been laid. The transmission main was laid using DN 1000 to DN 1200 steel and DN 710 polyethylene pipes.

To perform quality work the welded parts of the pipes are checked by ultrasound machine and every weld seam is estimated. The inside of the pipes that will be used in construction of water lines was painted with special paint for preventing the corrosion and keeping the qualification of drinking water. At the same time a reservoir with the capacity of 50 thousand cubic meters is constructed for supplying the population with high-quality drinking water.

Construction of Shirvan-Mugan integrated water pipeline will be completed by the end of August. Thus Salyan and Bilasuvar will be supplied with drinking water. Note that part of the transmission main was put into operation and Hajigabul and Shirvan towns have been supplied with drinking water. Drinking water supply system of 8 thousand people and 15 thousand people have substantially improved. Presently reconstruction works are being continued in Hajigabul and Bilasuvar. In the near future water supply and sewerage systems will be reconstructed in Shirvan, Salyan, and Neftchala. After completion of the project 470 thousand people in Shirvan, Salyan, and Neftchala, Hajigabul, and Bilasuvar, as well as in 121 villages will be supplied with high quality drinking water.
