“Azersu” OJSC carries out Action Plan on reconstruction of water supply and sanitation systems in the regions following “State Program on Socioeconomic Development in the Regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2009-2013”. Water supply of 15 thousand people in Shirvan has substantially improved and population were supplied with drinking water on “24 hours a day” basis as a result of transmission of drinking water from Shirvan-Mugan integrated water pipeline which is one of the major infrastructure projects to Shirvan city.

Laying of a section of Shirvan-Mugan integrated water pipeline to Shirvan city was completed and this allowed supplying Shirvan`s population with drinking water on “24 hours a day” basis.  On July 1, 2013 the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony to supply drinking water to Shirvan from Shirvan-Mugan integrated water pipeline.

Firstly a part of Shirvan city, as well as Yeni Yashayish residential area have been supplied with drinking water. Thus, a part of population in Shirvan was supplied with drinking water on “24 hours a day” basis. 45,7km of distributional lines of 60km was laid, thus more over 4 thousand people were supplied on “24 hours a day” basis. After completion of the projects water supply systems of 25 thousand people will be improved. About 2000 people in Yeni Yashayish residential area will be supplied with prepaid smart-card water meters.

Reconstruction of water supply and sanitation in Shirvan city will be implementedunder "Provincial Cities Water Supply and Sewerage Project" funded by the Government of Azerbaijan and JICA.

In the future Salyan and Bilasuvar cities will be supplied with drinking water by Shirvan-Mugan integrated water pipeline
