Mehdiabad and Digah settlements in Absheron district, as well as residential area Gulustan in Binegedi district were supplied with drinking water by a new source

   “Azersu” OJSC continues Action Plan on improvement of drinking water supply and sanitation services of the consumers. Under “State Program on Socioeconomic Development of Baku and suburban settlements for 2011-2013” approved by Ilham Aliyev on 4 May 2011 Action plan is carried out for improvement of water supply and sanitation services in suburban settlements and villages. Once a section of Jeyranbatan-Balakhani-Ramana-Gala-Pirallahi transmission main was put into operation some residential areas of Absheron Peninsula were supplied with drinking water.

   The commissioning of part of Jeyranbatan-Balakhani-Ramana-Gala-Pirallahi transmission main till settlement Balakhani created conditions for provision of water supply of certain populated points of Absheron district, particularly in some parts of settlements Digah and Mehdiabad, as well as housing estate Gulustan in Binagadi settlement. Thus 4270 people in Mehdiabad, 2960 people in Digah, more over 1000 people in Gulustan were supplied with drinking water on “24 hours a day” basis. At the same time new house connections are carried out and as result of these works more over 10 000 people will be supplied with drinking water. Following the project every subscriber is supplied with prepaid smart-card water meters.

   In accordance with Action plan of “Azersu” OJSC between July and August of this year Mehemmedli, Balakhani, the 1st and the 2nd Zabrat and Sabunchu will be supplied with drinking water. Construction of a part of Jeyranbatan-Balakhani-Ramana-Gala-Pirallahi transmission main from Balakhani till Gala will be completed in August. In this period construction of reservoirs compound in Ramana and Gala will be finished.

   In the framework of “State Program on Socioeconomic Development of Baku and suburban settlements for 2011-2013”water and sanitation projects are continued in 36 settlements of Baku and Absheron districts. Totally commissioning Jeyranbatan Ultra-filtration Water Treatment Plant and Jeyranbatan-Balakhani-Ramana-Zira-Pirallahi transmission main will improve the water supply systems of over 1 mln people in the Absheron Peninsula.
