Introduction of pre-paid smart water meters is expanded

    “Azersu” OJSC continues Action Plan on installation of pre-paid smart water meters for the purposes of improved services to consumers, precise accounting and increase in of pre-paid smart water meters billing and collection levels, eliminating debts problems and preventing water-losses.

   12996Nos pre-paid smart water meters including 10764Nos on household group, 2232Nos water meters on non-household group were put into operation in 2013. Totally 37 thousand pre-paid smart water meters were installed from May of 2012 until today.

   At the first phase introduction of pre-paid smart water meters began to be carried out in Baku, Sumgayit, and Absheron Peninsula, then in the regions. Under the projects of reconstruction of water supply and sanitation systems 7000 pre-paid smart water meters were installed in Guba and Zardab districts. After implementation of the new projects the subscribers of Goychay, Imishly, Shamakhi, Oguz, Zagatala, Hajigabul, and other districts will be supplied with pre-paid smart water meters.

   According to status data as April 1, 2013 over 553 thousand subscribers of 1 mln 155 thousand subscribers that “Azersu” OJSC serves were supplied with mechanical and pre-paid smart water meters and water metering level increased by 48%.

   Note that installation of smart-card water meters for households is carried out at the expanse of the State Budget by relevant divisions of “Azersu” OJSC and it is free of charge to any household consumer. But for non-household consumers installation of smart-card water meters carried out at the expanse of the consumers.
