Drinking water supply system of Mehseti settlement of Genje under reconstruction
“Azersu” OJSC continues Action Plan to improve drinking water supply and sewerage systems in the regions. Drinking water supply systems in urban and rayon centers, as well as in the villages and settlements are reconstructed under “State Program on Socioeconomic Development of the regions of Republic of Azerbaijan for 2009-2013”.
In accordance with Action Plan of “Azersu” OJSC work on improvement of drinking water supply was completed in Mehseti settlement of Genje.
Under the project funded by Stock Company 2Nos subartesian wells were drilled, the existing well was reconstructed and put into operation. A water tank with the capacity of 60m3 and 38Nos valves were installed, distributional lines of 20239m were laid, and 1275 house connections realized. Thus water supply systems of 4000 people in the settlement were improved.
On April 15 inauguration ceremony of new subartesian wells was held in Mehseti settlement. Head of Ganja Executive Power Elmar Valiyev, member of Azerbaijani Parliament Asaf Hajiyev, head of “Genje Sukanal” SJSC Behlul Ramazanov and residents took parts at the ceremony.
Note that reconstruction project of water supply and sewerage systems in Genje are carried out under “Open Municipal Infrastructure Program II” funded by the Government of Azerbaijan and KfW Bank of Germany.
