The first Caspian International Aqua Technologies Exhibition is held in Azerbaijan

    On April 11 the 1st Caspian International Aqua Technologies Exhibition dedicated to showcasing achievements in water technology was started in Azerbaijan. Festive opening ceremony of the exhibition organized on the initiative of and supported by Azersu was held in “Baku Expo Center”. The organizational partner is Iteca Caspian LLC.

   Stating at the opening ceremony chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov welcomed the visitors and said that CATEF is a significant event in development of water supply and sewerage systems. Chairman of Stock Company noted that presently water supply and sewerage projects are continued in 38 towns/rayon centers and 350 villages across the country. He also said that “Azersu” OJSC is in close cooperation with international financial institutions and organization and uses the latest technology in implementation of the infrastructure projects. Chairman of the Joint-Stock Company emphasized that such events play an irreplaceable role in development of water supply sector of the country: “I think that the participants, as well as the visitors will get great benefit from this exhibition. Such events are of great importance for introduction of the latest technology and cooperating with new partners. I hope that, the exhibition that will last 3 days will be useful to the participants and visitors, and here new cooperation will be founded.”

    Regional Director of ITE Group plc, Edward Strachan, welcoming the exhibitors, stressed the importance of the first event for this industry in the Caspian region, and expressed his gratitude to Azersu for its contribution. It is gratifying that the first exhibition was attended by 80 companies from 23 countries.

   After ribbon cutting ceremony the exhibition was declared open.

   During familiarization with the exhibition chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov was informed about the objectives of the event include demonstration of the latest technologies on treatment of drinking water and wastewater, discharging of stormwater, construction of microtunnels, and analyzing of drinking water, as well as treatment technologies, pumps, information and communication technologies and construction technologies and facilities, geothermal technology; and seawater desalination technologies.

    In the frame of the exhibition Caspian International Aqua Technologies Forum will be held on April 12 in “Hilton Baku”. The issues that will be discussed at the forum include XXI century - innovative technologies for drinking water processing , environmentally innovative wastewater purification technologies and use of disposal products,  express methods for the assessment and benchmarking of water sources, engineering communication inspection methods and ditchless construction technologies, success formula advanced management methods in water supply, waste and rain water systems, technologies for the drying of swamplands and artificial lakes, creation of environmentally healthy zones, healthy environment – green planet.
