Introduction of smart-card water meters is expanded

   “Azersu” OJSC carries out measures for improvement of the quality of the service rendered to consumers, increasing the level of payment for service for water supply and wastewater. Installation of smart water meter has begun for accurate accounting of sold water, increasing the level of payment, eliminating debtor debts’ problems and preventing water-losses. 19700 Nos mart card water meters including 7560Nos on household group, 12140Nos water meters on non-household group put into operation in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula in 2012.

   Note that installation of smart card water meters began in May of 2012. At the first phase installation works were carried out on non-household group. In October household subscribers also were supplied with smart card water meters. These water meters are installed in Guba and Zardab cities, as well as in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula. In the frame of reconstruction projects of water supply and sewerage systems all subscribers in the regions will be supplied with smart card water meters.

   Totally 65 000 water meters were installed in 2012. According to the status data as January 1, 2013 550 000 or 47,5% subscribers were supplied with smart card water meters on “Azersu” OJSC.

   Installation of smart-card water meters in the areas of households which use water supply and sewerage services will be carried out at the expanse of the state by relevant divisions of “Azersu” OJSC and it is free of charge to any household consumer. But it will be carried out for non-household consumer at the expanse of consumers by the relevant division of “Azersu” OJSC.
