A meeting was held with the delegation of KfW Bank of Germany in “Azersu” OJSC

  On January 29 a meeting was held in “Azersu” OJSC with the delegation of KfW Bank. Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC for foreign investments Ilgar Tagiyev drew attention that the Government of Azerbaijan is in close cooperation with international financial institutions, as well as with German Development Bank. Project Manager of KfW Bank Ursula Hister highly evaluated this cooperation and said that the bank that she represents will support to the projects of reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems in Ganja and Shaki cities in the future too.

  At the meeting the issues on reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems in Ganja and Shaki cities and the works that will be carried out at the next phase were discussed. At the next meetings that will be held during their 3 day visit construction, management, treatment of water, water metering finance and other issues will be discussed.

   Note that according to the agreements signed on “Open Municipal Infrastructure Program II” in December 20 EUR 102mln(EUR 100mln loan, EUR 2mln grant)  was allocated for financing the second and third phases of the project that carried out in Ganja and Shaki. With this purpose EUR 43mln of EUR 102mln allocated by German Bank will be directed to reconstruction of water supply systems, EUR 57mln to construction of sewerage systems in Ganja and Shaki. EUR 2mln will be used to management of Ganja and Shaki Sukanal Departments.

   At the first phase of “Open Municipal Infrastructure Program II” project reconstruction of water source, construction of transmission and new reservoirs in Shaki, reconstruction of water source, construction of transmission and new reservoirs, reconstruction of a part of water supply and sewerage systems in Ganja is intended. The works on the first phase completed in Shaki, the great part of works on the first phase is about completing. After implementation of the project water supply and sewerage systems of 500 thousand people in 2 cities will be improved.
