Sewerage systems of Khirdalan under reconstruction

   “Azersu” OJSC continues Action plan for improvement of drinking water and sewerage services. In accordance with Action plan water and sewerage projects are carried in towns and districts as well as in Baku.

   In November of 2012 reconstruction project of sewerage systems of Khirdalan city began to be implemented. Construction works of wastewater and stormwater collectors are carried out in Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Khirdalan due to upgrade of road infrastructure. According to the project a sewerage line of 2,5km is laid with polyethylene pipes (DN=400mm) along the avenue. At the same time stormwater collector of 2,5km is constructed with concrete pipes (DN=1000mm). 1,6km part of each line was laid. In the frame of the project installation of 45 Nos rain screening and 3 sewerage connections (DN=250mm) are planned. After commissioning of sewerage and stormwater collectors stormwater and wastewater collected in the area will be discharged to different collectors. Presently wastewater collected in Khirdalan is discharged to Hovsan Aeration Station for treatment. In the future wastewater collected in Khirdalan, as well as in Masazir settlement will be transmitted to the wastewater treatment plant (200 thousand m3) that is building in Lokbatan settlement. For ensuring the transmission of wastewater to the plant by gravity a tunnel collector of 7km will be constructed in Khojasan settlement.

  Reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems in Khirdalan will be carried out under the project financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and Saudi development Fund. The project will begin to be implemented in 2013 and will improve drinking water supply and sewerage services of 100 thousand people in Khirdalan.
