The water supply and sewerage systems in Naftalan will be reconstructed

The international bidding on reconstruction project of water supply and sewerage systems in Naftalan under "Provincial Cities Water Supply and Sewerage Project" financed the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Japan International Cooperation Agency was completed. According to the results of the bidding the successful bidder is “Chukurova Construction Industry and Trading Co. and Heating Systems” Joint Venture (Turkey and Azerbaijan) and an agreement was signed with this Company.

According to the project new water line of 5,9km consisting of polyethylene pipes (DN=315mm) will be laid, 2Nos reservoirs with the capacity of 3000m3 each and chlorination plants will be constructed for supplying the consumers of Naftalan on a continuing basis with drinking water. A sewerage network of 31km and sewerage collector of 2km will be constructed for wastewater management in Naftalan. The project also includes the establishment of a new administrative building and industrial area.

Construction and installation works will be started early in 2013. The works are intended to be completed as off February of 2015. This project will improve water supply and sewerage systems of 10 000 people in Naftalan.
