The pilot project was successfully completed

   “Azersu” OJSC continues to carry out Action plans for improvement of drinking water supply of the consumers. The pilot project that carried out in Yeni Gunashli settlement of Surakhani district settlement for supplying the consumers on a continuing basis with drinking water under “2011-2013 State Program on Social-Economical Development of Baku and its settlements”.  In the frame of the pilot project the water supply systems of 28 Nos 9-storey residential buildings in “Q” residential area were reconstructed. Thus 4571 people (1187 subscribers) were supplied on a continuing basis with drinking water.

    Kocharli Hasanov, Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC for operation informed on the works done under the pilot project and noted that capital reconstruction works were carried out on the transmission mains and indoor water systems, as well as in the reservoirs. Water-pumping station and a reservoir with the capacity of 2000m3 were reconstructed and supplied with pressure systems: “Under the project the steel pipes of transmission main of 2,3km were replaced with polyethylene pipes. Water meters were installed at the entrance of the reservoir and exit of the pumping station. As a result of these works it is possible to accurately account water use"

   Distributional lines laid 25-30years ago in the basements of the buildings were cancelled and these lines were laid through the ladder cages. Indoor lines of totally 13,5km were laid and 1187 connection works carried out, smart card water meters and 5Nos fire-hydran were installed.

   As a result of reconstruction works the water lose and anti sanitary conditions were prevented. Installation of water meters in ladder cages improved control works and technical service. As a result of implementation of the pilot project the following works are carried out:

-To supply population on a continuing basis with drinking water

-Prevention of water losses

-Increasing the payment services

-To minimize the water supply cost

-Elimination of human factors in accounting and supervisory works, and  in collection of service charge

-Improvement of sanitary conditions

-Prevention of water leaks in the basements of the buildings and ensuring of technical safety of the buildings

Mr. K. Hasanov also noted that the project was successfully implemented and such projects will be carried out in other districts too. The projects on supplying the multi-storey buildings on a continuing basis with drinking water in Hovsan settlement of Surakhani, as well as in Yasamal, Binagadi, Narimanov and Sabunchu districts are carried out.

Note that as a result of these works sales volume increased to 31,1 thousand m3. Before it was 10,8m3.
