Works on reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems of Agdash are successfully continued.

     The second phase of the project on reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems of Agdash district that financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and Asia Development Bank has launched. In this phase the water supply and sewerage systems of Agdash district will be reconstructed and construction of water intake plants will be completed.

    In accordance with the project a distributional lines of 134km will be laid for reconstruction of water supply systems of Agdash. At the same time water line of 1km was laid. In November 3km part of sewerage line with the length of 121km has been laid. According to the project 7600 houses will be connected to the distributional lines and 5250 houses will be connected to sewerage systems.

    2Nos subartesian wells will be drilled and 2Nos reservoirs with the capacity of 2000m3 each will be constructed for supplying the population on a continuing basis with high-quality drinking water in Agdash. A wastewater treatment plant is planned to be constructed for treatment of wastewater collected in the city. In accordance with the project about 300 fire0-hydrants will be installed in the streets. Reconstruction project of water supply and sewerage systems of Agdash will improve drinking water supply and sewerage services of 30 000 people in Agdash.

    Note that in the frame of “Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project” began in 2008, technical and organizational works were carried out in Agdash. At this phase 3 Nos artesian wells were drilled, a new reservoir (V=2000 m3) including an intake chamber and chlorination and new laboratory building, pumping station was constructed. In addition, new office buildings and industrial premises were constructed for “Agdash Sukanal” SOJSC and necessary machines and mechanisms were purchased. Works on this phase were completed in 2010.

    Note that water supply and sewerage systems of Goychay, Beylegan, Balakan and Agjabadi cities will be reconstructed in the frame of “Water Supply and Sanitation Investment Program”.
