Illegal drinking water lines were prevented in a number of facilities in Surakhani district

In accordance with the Action Plan for ensuring the efficient use of water reserves approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, control measures are being continued to detect illegal drinking water supply, minimize water losses and prevent wastage. Illegal drinking water lines were detected in a number of facilities during the control measures carried out by the employees of the Azerbaijan State Water Reserves Agency in Surakhani district.

During the inspection of the water supply system of the newly built apartment-type building on 14 July Street, Yeni (New) Surakhani settlement, it was found that the building possesses technical conditions and a draft to connect to the water supply system. However, the owner of the facility do not fulfill the obligation and requirements of the technical condition. On the contrary, he connected the main water line of the building not to the point envisaged in the project, but from another direction arbitrarily, by interfering with the network.

In Rasim Shahsuvarov Street, Hovsan settlement, water was stolen in the market, pharmacy, pet shop and meat selling facilities owned by an entrepreneur. The owner of the facility illegally connected to the network without obtaining technical conditions and signing a contract.

It should be noted that in the first quarter of the current year, 76 facts related to the illegal use of drinking water were detected and prevented in Surakhani district, and a total of 1250 facts. Azerbaijan State Water Reserves Agency brings to the attention of citizens and entrepreneurs that illegal and off-meter use of drinking water is unacceptable. Law enforcement agencies will be contacted to take strict control measures against individuals and legal entities who commit these acts.
