New drinking and waste water systems were commissioned in 2023

In accordance with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s instructions on improving the supply of drinking water to consumers and provide them with waste water discharge services, in 2023, the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency carried out large-scale measures in the Absheron Peninsula and regions, especially in the territories liberated from occupation.

In 2023, the new drinking and waste water networks of the city of Lachin were put into operation, and the implementation of a new project was started in the city of Fuzuli. The construction of the Zarislichay pumping station and the central water reservoir has been completed in order to increase the sustainability of the drinking water supply of Shusha city.

Last year, the drinking and waste water systems of the city of Gazakh were put into operation, and the work on the initial phase of the projects in the cities of Yevlakh and Balakan were completed. At the same time, the construction of drinking and waste water networks was continued in the cities of Ganja, Mingachevir, Sheki, Shirvan, Salyan, and Neftchala.

   

 In 2023, the construction of drinking and waste water networks and collectors of the Pirshagi Wastewater Treatment Plant was continued in the villages and settlements around Baku.

In total, in 2023, 1 drinking and 5 waste water treatment plants, 4 water intake plants, 6 reverse osmosis plants, 30 reservoirs, 12 water and sewage pumping stations were built. At the same time, 1037 km of drinking water and 179 km of waste water lines were built, and 26 sub-artesian wells were dug.

As a result of the work done, more than 71 thousand subscribers were provided with drinking water in a centralized manner for the first time.
