Actions against the illegal drinking water supply will be taken together with the Absheron District Executive Authority

To ensure the efficient use of water resources, to detect and eliminate cases of illegal lines of drinking water, to minimize water losses, to prevent wastage, and to pay off receivables, the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan implements necessary measures in the direction of organizing joint activities with local executive bodies. At the meeting held in the Absheron District Executive Power, the work done in this area and the upcoming tasks were discussed.

Deputy Chairman of "Azersu" OJSC Etibar Mammadov said that according to the decree signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in 2020, a Commission was established to ensure the efficient use of water resources in the country, to improve the management of water economy and to coordinate activities in this area, and the Action Plan was approved. The Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency has started implementing complex measures to ensure the implementation of the measures coming from the Action Plan, to eliminate water losses, wastage, and illegal water supply. For this purpose, coordination of joint activities with Baku city and regions, Sumgayit city and Absheron District Executive Authorities is planned. Working groups for the districts of Baku city, Sumgayit, Absheron district and Baglar massif were created and started their activities. Preliminary investigations show that a number of business facilities and owners of private houses use water illegally and without accounting, it is brought to their attention that this is unacceptable and awareness is carried out.
