Cases of unaccounted and off-meter use of drinking water were revealed in Binagadi district
As a result of investigations conducted to prevent water losses and wastage in accordance with the Actions Plan on ensuring efficient use of water resources approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, cases of unaccounted and off-meter use of drinking water were discovered in Binagadi district. It turned out that the water demand of the multi-storey residential building under construction on Farman Malikov Street, Binagadi settlement is being supplied through a line connected to the nearby network. The owner of the building illegally uses water without obtaining technical conditions and without concluding a contract with "Azersu" Open Joint Stock Company.
Illegal use of water was also discovered in the animal slaughter and sale facility known as the "livestock market" in the village of Binagadi. Despite administrative and educational measures, the facility owner refuses to sign a contract with the water sales company.
Although the truck washing station in Khojasan settlement has a contract and a meter, part of the water consumed by the facility is supplied by an illegal line drawn outside the meter. Employees of the district Sukanal Administration drew up a damage report in accordance with the requirements of the legislation and canceled that line.
It should be noted that 10,525 facts related to the illegal use of drinking water were discovered by "Azersu" OJSC in 2022. In those cases, the consumption of 2 million 724 thousand cubic meter water was restored. As a result of the prevention of 2106 cases of illegal use detected in Binagadi district in the last year, 531 thousand cubic meters of consumption was restored.
