A meeting held with the delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

A meeting with the delegation headed by Yelena Gordeyeva, the chief banker for infrastructure projects of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was held at "Azersu" Open Joint Stock Company.

Deputy Chairman of "Azersu" OJSC Etibar Mammadov informed the guests about the projects implemented in the direction of reconstruction of drinking and waste water systems in Azerbaijan. Appreciating the role of EBRD in the infrastructure projects implemented in our country, E. Mammadov mentioned the project of "Reconstruction of water supply systems of Greater Baku" signed in 1995. It was noted that after the establishment of political stability under the leadership of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in our newly independent country, reconstruction work was carried out at the Kura and Ceyranbatan water treatment facilities due to the concessional loan allocated by the EBRD and the World Bank and important affairs were carried out in the direction of supplying pumping stations and production bases in Baku.

Yelena Gordeyeva, head of the delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, expressed her satisfaction with the participation of the institution she represents in infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan. She said that they are ready to support Azerbaijan in all issues related to efficient use of water, improvement of water supply to rural settlements, treatment and reuse of waste water and in general, water safety. Yelena Gordeyeva pointed out that they are interested in the project of reconstruction of drinking and waste water systems of the city of Ganja and that they can provide financial support for the continuation of the project.
