Cases of unaccounted and off-meter use of water were discovered in Binagadi settlements, as result of investigations conducted to prevent water losses and wastage in accordance with the "Measure Plan for 2020-2022 on ensuring efficient use of water resources" approved by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. During the control measures, it was discovered that an illegal water line was laid in an apartment-type multi-apartment residential building on Rasulzade Street of the settlement. Although the owner of the facility who illegally connected to the nearby transmission main without obtaining technical conditions and signing a contract with "Azersu" OJSC was warned, he does not want to give up his illegal act.

At first glance, everything seems to be in order in the "Khan" tea house in Khojasen settlement. The object has a meter and a contract. But not even a drop of water passes through the meter.

As a result of the control measures, a number of private houses were found to use water illegally. Thus, the newly built private houses in the territory of the 1st mine of Binagadi settlement are connected to the 300 mm diameter main distribution water line passing nearby.

Owners of individual residential houses and facilities were informed about the legal connection to the water network in connection with the discovered facts. At the same time, it was reported that the illegal and wasteful use of drinking water leads to the violation of hydraulic regimes in the networks, serious water losses and deterioration of the water supply of other residents living in those areas.

"Azersu" OJSC informs subscribers once again that measures will be continued regularly to prevent such illegal situations, arbitrarily drawn and off-meter lines will be canceled and those who repeat such situations will be referred to law enforcement agencies.

It should be noted that 7216 facts related to the illegal water supply were discovered by "Azersu" OJSC in January-September 2022. According to those cases, consumption in the amount of 1 million 800 thousand cubic meters was restored. As a result of the prevention of 1528 cases of illegal use detected in Binagadi district since the beginning of the year, 374 thousand cubic meters of consumption was restored. About 200 facts related to illegal use of water were submitted to the law enforcement agencies for investigation in January-September of the current year.
