"Azersu" Open Joint Stock Company continues to take measures in improving drinking water supply to consumers. The implementation of the pilot project, which was carried out to provide subscribers with uninterrupted drinking water in the city of Sumgayit, is completed.

The project implemented in the territory of the 8th micro-district of Sumgayit city covered 45 multi-apartment residential buildings. A few years ago, the internal water supply systems of those buildings were reconstructed and metering procedures were carried out, but the capabilities of the existing infrastructure did not allow to provide stable drinking water to the residents living on the upper floors. Buildings were supplied with drinking water for a total of 8 hours in the morning and evening. Moreover, in some cases, the low water pressure on the upper floors caused problems for the residents there.

Within the framework of the implemented project, fundamental reconstruction work was carried out in the existing pumping station that supplies the buildings with drinking water. The management system of the station is completely updated and automated. The newly created hydrophore system allows residents to be supplied with pressurized and uninterrupted drinking water. With this, the drinking water supply of 4684 subscribers (about 17 thousand residents) in 45 multi-apartment residential buildings had been substantially improved.

It should be noted that as a result of the work done in Sumgayit city in the past years, the specific weight of subscribers who receive uninterrupted water has reached 93 percent and the level of metering has reached 91 percent.
