Created: 15-08-2022 14:52

The transmission main supplying drinking water to the railway area of Bina settlement, Khazar district of Baku city was interfered with. A person named Nasir, who is engaged in the construction of a private house in the area, tried to change the direction of the 219 mm diameter Bina state farm main water line on his own.

So, at night, that person stopped the supply of water from the valve of the transmission main, cut the 70-meter long part of the existing line, took it outside the construction site and laid a new line with 159 mm diameter polyethylene pipes. At night, he started building a private house in that area.

As a result of interference with the main water pipeline, the penitentiary institution, five-story residential buildings and private houses located in the area were left without water.

As soon as information about this was received, the Khazar Sukanal Branch of "Azersu" OJSC informed the district’s executive power and law enforcement agencies. During the investigations, it was found that the citizen does not have any documents for the construction of a private residential house in that area and the construction work is being carried out illegally.

With the participation of law enforcement officers, the construction was demolished by the brigades and equipment of "Azersu" OJSC. Currently, work is being done to restore the dismantled pipeline and water supply. During this period, water was supplied to the penitentiary instution, building and private houses by alternative means.

The law enforcement agencies were applied regarding the investigation of the fact by “Azersu” OJSC.

It should be noted that such illegal interventions in main water pipelines negatively affect the level of services provided, disrupt hydraulic regimes and the stability of drinking water supply to consumers, increase water losses and create serious threats to the safety of drinking water provided to the population. At the same time, such cases are considered as damage to state property. "Azersu" OJSC will appeal to law enforcement agencies to provide a legal evaluation of the actions of those who intervene in the networks arbitrarily and to take measures in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
