Despite regular inspections by “Azersu” OJSC to prevent illegal use, waste and water losses, there are still those who try to use water illegally. Some people engaged in buying and selling houses in the residential area called "Albalilig-2" in Khazar district deceived residents and took illegal money from them to install water lines in their houses. According to one of the residents, Aygun Amiraslanova, 1,200 AZN was collected for each house, including the meter.

During the investigation, it was found out that due to the lack of a water line nearby, the businessmen installed a distribution collector by drawing water with a 50 mm pipe from a distance of about 1 km, and from here individual water lines were laid to the houses. Illegal water lines discovered by the employees of Khazar Sukanal Department were cut off and illegal use of water was prevented. At present, the identities of those who introduced themselves as “Azersu” employees and deceived the residents are being clarified and the necessary documents are being prepared to submit to law enforcement agencies.

In accordance with the requirements of the legislation, the water supply of the water production enterprise and the private house was suspended. It should be noted that those who use drinking water as a raw material have to pay 8 AZN for 1 cubic meter of water, but did not pay for water as they provided it from a private house.

Illegal interference with drinking water lines and their prevention leads to additional workload and financial loss for the Society. Thus, hydraulic regimes in the water supply network are violated, losses are increasing, at the same time the involvement of emergency crews in the liquidation of illegal associations delays the elimination of other accidents, which ultimately leads to legitimate dissatisfaction of subscribers. “Azersu” OJSC, which will continue to take measures to prevent such violations, urges the population not to trust outsiders who promise them to draw water, to refrain from illegal use of water, and to contact the 955 Call Center of the Society in case of such cases.
