Drinking water is supplied to the liberated from the occupation city of Shusha
The supply of drinking water to the city of Shusha liberated by the victorious Azerbaijani army under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev’s leadership has already begun.
According to the President’s special instructions, the restoration of vital infrastructure, including drinking water supply systems, is being carried out in the liberated territories, including the city of Shusha. In this regard, a group of specialists from “Azersu” OJSC was sent to Shusha and other liberated regions. Specialists examined the current state of water sources, main lines, reservoirs and distribution networks.
It should be noted that after Shusha’s liberation, the supply of drinking water to the city was completely stopped. Thus, when the enemy left the city, it also destroyed the main water supply line to Shusha. In order to solve the problem of drinking water, the specialists of “Azersu” OJSC have started investigation in Shusha.
Initially, the drinking water supply system of Dashalti village was investigated. As a result of the inspections, crashes in the water supply system were eliminated and water supply was provided to the village on November 12, 2020. At the same time, a water filling station was established in Dashalti village for temporarily water supply Shusha with cars.
At the same time, the technical condition of the Kichik Kirs-Shusha transmission main with a diameter of 325 mm was inspected together with the relevant departments of the Ministry of Defense. As a result of shell explosions during the military operations, major accidents were detected at 12 points on the transmission main consisting of 9.4 km of steel pipes supplying the city with drinking water. Necessary technical equipment and materials needed to eliminate the accidents in a short period of time were identified, as well as additional engineering and specialist staff, emergency recovery brigade was sent to Shusha by “Azersu” OJSC.
