Construction of a transmission main and a reservoir to supply Neftchala with drinking water is underway

First Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Teyyub Jabbarov, Deputy Chairman Etibar Mammadov and Head of Neftchala District Executive Power Mirhasan Seyidov got acquainted with the progress of construction of the transmission main and reservoir that will supply Neftchala with drinking water. Regarding the implementation of the project, it was noted that a 38-kilometer section of the main water pipeline has already been built. Currently, preparations for the construction of a 1.5 km section of the pipeline until the Neftchala city network, as well as the section over the Kura River are underway.

According to the project, a special constructure will be installed at the intersection of the pipeline with the Kura River. For this purpose, 28-meter-high reinforced concrete piers will be installed on both banks of the river and will be placed on the pier. The main line will be laid over the trestle.

It should be noted that, hydraulic testing works have been started in the 17 km ready part of the pipeline. The construction of the main water pipeline is expected to be completed in November this year. After the pipeline is fully passed through the hydraulic test, washed and disinfected, drinking water will be supplied to the Neftchala city network.

The construction of a reservoir with a capacity of 7,500 cubic meters near the city of Salyan is underway to ensure the supply of water to the city of Neftchala in a self-flowing mode. So far, more than 60 percent of the reservoir construction has been completed.
