The autumn- winter preparations are underway

The “Azersu” OJSC continues its activities in preparations for the autumn- winter season. Taking into account the intensification of precipitation in autumn and winter, the operation of wastewater infrastructure is checked, the operation of networks and collectors, rain grate and observing wells are studied. According to the Action Plan, flood risk points have been identified in Sabail, Yasamal, Nasimi, Narimanov, Sabunchu and Binagadi districts of Baku.

It should be noted that due to the dry and windy weather in the summer, the surrounding sand, gravel, soil, as well as solid household waste fill the sewer lines and rain grate. The accumulation of solid waste on the lines complicates their operation by reducing the capacity of the network and collectors.

Since the beginning of September, complex measures have been taken to clean up solid waste collected in sewers, lines and rain grate, as well as to wash them. Removal of collected solid waste is carried out by special equipment. With the help of special equipment, water is injected into the collectors under high pressure, the sediments are cleaned and removed by means of special device. Cleaning of collectors, lines and rain grate will lead to the full operation of the existing infrastructure. This prevents blockage in the lines and ensures the normal discharge of water generated during heavy rains.

According to the Action Plan, it is planned to wash 15 km of collectors with a diameter of 500-1500 mm. in 14 points of the capital in September of the current year. So far, the collectors with a total length of 10 km have been cleaned and the work is underway in this direction.

In addition to collectors, small-diameter carrier waste water lines and rain grate are regularly cleaned of solid household waste. Over the past period, 95 km of wastewater, 14 km of rainwater lines, 7,500 manholes, as well as more than 3,400 grate were cleaned.
