Inauguration ceremony on water supply and sewrage systems of Sabirabad town took place
On June 8 an inauguration ceremony of reconstruction project of water supply and sewerage systems in Sabirabad took place. In the ceremony the chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov, head of Sabirabad region Executive power Nazim Ismayilov, the representatives of World Bank on Azerbaijan took place. Reconstruction works in this region will be carried out in the frame of “National Water Supply and Sewerage Services Project” signed between the Government of Azerbaijan and World Bank.
In the ceremony the chairman of “Azesru” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov said that works on the project as a part of State Program on Social and Economical Development of Regions approved by the President Ilham Aliyev will be completed by 2014 and consumers will be supplied on a continuing basis with high quality drinking water: “For supplying the consumers in Sabirabad and surrounding villages on a continuing basis with high quality drinking water 118l/s water will be delivered to the region by transmission main which will be laid from Kur Water Treatment Plants Compound. Whereas the residents of Sabirabad consumed water that delivered from Kur River after partially treatment. As a of implementation of the project the residents will be supplied on a continuing basis with high quality drinking water and the sewerage infrastructure of the town will be reconstructed.”
Head of Sabirabad region Executive power Nazim Ismayilov expressed his gratitude to the administration of the country on behalf of district residents related to reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems and emphasized that this project will contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
“Reconstruction project of water supply and sewerage systems in Sabirabad” plans to develop water supply and sanitation systems of totally 48775 people including 34423 people in Sabirabad, 14352 people in Galagayin, Sugovushan, Gafarli, Asadli, Bulagli and Balakand villages.
In the settlements of the project 79,8km long drinking water line and 87km long sewerage line will be laid with high-density polyethylene pipes and more over 300 fire hydrants will be installed. A reservoir with the capacity of 5400m3 will be constructed for supplying the population on a continuing basis with drinking water, micro tunnel will be used for discharging wastewater by gravity. A Wastewater Treatment Plant with the capacity of 10500m3 will be constructed for rendering harmless the waste water in Sabirabad. Works on the project that financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and World Bank are planned to be completed in 2014.
According to the results of the international bidding on reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems of Sabirabad construction works will be carried out by consortium of Turkish- Azerbaijan “Kochoglu-Art-Accord”.
Note that “National Water Supply and Sewerage Service Project” financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and World Bank plans to reconstruct water supply and sewerage systems of 4 towns (Shamakhi, Gabala, Sabirabad and Saatli).
