Inauguration ceremony on water supply and sewrage systems of Saatli town took place
On May 30 an inauguration ceremony of reconstruction project of water supply and sewerage systems in Saatli took place. In the ceremony the chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov, head of Saatli region Executive power Sirageddin Jabbarov, the representatives of World Bank on Azerbaijan took place. Reconstruction works in this region will be carried out in the frame of “National Water Supply and Sewerage Services Project” signed between the Government of Azerbaijan and World Bank.
In the ceremony the chairman of “Azesru” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov said that works on the project as a part of State Program on Social and Economical Development of Regions approved by the President Ilham Aliyev will be completed by 2014 and consumers will be supplied on a continuing basis with high quality drinking water: “For supplying the consumers in Saatli and surrounding villages on a continuing basis with high quality drinking water 80l/s water will be delivered to the region by transmission main which will be laid from Kur Water Treatment Plants Compound. Whereas, the residents of Saatli consumed water that delivered from Araz River. In the future other settlements in addition to the villages of project inaugurated today will be supplied with high quality water.”
“Reconstruction project of water supply and sewerage systems in Saatli” plans to develop water supply and sanitation systems of totally 38531 people including 21312 people in Saatli, 17219 people in Baylik, Giragli and Mustafabeyli villages.
In the settlements of the project 120,5km long drinking water line and 139,7km long sewerage line will be laid with high-density polyethylene pipes and will cover 3170 houses connections, 395 fire hydrants will be installed. A reservoir with the capacity of 3100m3 will be constructed for supplying the population on a continuing basis with drinking water, micro tunnel will be used for discharging wastewater by gravity. A Wastewater Treatment Plant with the capacity of 6500m3 will be constructed for rendering harmless the waste water in Saatli.
In the future the provision opportunities of drinking water in Alisoltanli, Mollavezli, Baylar and Potubayli villages are considered following the project. Works on the project financed by the Government and World Bank together are planned to be completed as of the second quarter of 2014.
Note that “National Water Supply and Sewerage Services Project” financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and World Bank intends reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems of 4 regions (Shamakhi, Gabala, Sabirabad and Saatli).
