Sports festival under the motto “Spiritual and physical health for employees” has begun.

    VIII Sport festival has begun in “Azersu” OJSC. Nearly 240 employees of enterprises and developments of “Azersu” OJSC will test themselves in 6 fields of sport – mini-football, chess, checkers, backgammon, table-tennis, and weightlifting under the motto “Spiritual and physical health for employees”.

    The ceremonial opening of the sport festival has begun with sounding national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Speaking in the opening ceremony head of administration department of “Azersu” OJSC Mohsun Guliyev recommended that President Ilham Aliyev declared 2012 as “Sport year” and recently mass sport competitions are held in Azerbaijan. The increase in interest in the physical culture and sports is a good example for care and attention to the sport: “Considering  the physical and spiritual health of the people as priority National leader Heydar Aliyev kept constant attention the increasing of the physical culture and sport. Government support for sport has increased as result of policies implemented by the Honorable President Ilham Aliyev, the worthy successor of Heydar Aliyev's political course has increased even more, the material-technical base of sport was strengthened, in the regions modern Olympic Sports Complexes were constructed. As a result of successful sport policy Azerbaijan is recognized as a significant partner by sport society and athletes are considered as main competitors in the world.”

    Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Mahir Mammadov congratulated the participants and emphasized the importance of such events: “Water industry employees are interested in sport as well as production.  There is no coincidence that sport festival of water industry employees is held for many years. Here even our staff play as professionals.”

   The first day of sport festival began with mini-football. At the end of the sport festival winners will be awarded with diplomas and valuable presents.
