22 March is World Water Day

      22 March is celebrated as World Water Day following Order dated February 22, 1993 of United Nations General Assembly. The first propose related to this was put forward on June, 1992 in United NationsConference onEnvironmentandDevelopmentput forward. World Water Day is aimed at learning the level of development of water resources, prevention of potable water sources and to ensurepublic awarenessonrational use ofdrinkingwater. According to the forecasts of UN as of 20253.2 billionpeoplewillsuffer fromwatershortage.
     In connection with World Water Day World Water Forum is held every 3 years. The last 6th World Water Forum was held on 12-17 March in Marseille of France.
     It should be noted that although 71% of the world is water just 2,5% is useful for drinking. 2/3 of drinking water is obtained from glaciers. 0,01% of drinking water is got from rivers.
