Sahil collector is under rehabilitation and treatment

   An Action Plan is carried out by “Azersu” OJSC for development of sewerage system of Baku and better environmental protection of Caspian Sea. Capital rehabilitation and treatment works being as a part of Action Plans has begun in Sahil collector one of main sewerage networks. The collector commissioned in 1983 is from the Palace of Hand Games Sports to Zig Pumping Station in Fahla Avenue. The collector collects wastewater in the center of the city and transports to Zig Pumping Station and here wastewater is transmitted to Hovsan Aeration Station by pumps. Sahil collector (9,6km) consisting of 13 reservoirs has undergone to great dim during 29 years of operation. Although the project capacity of the collector was intended 204 000m3 per day, but now it is working at the level of 40-50 percent.

   At present the reservoir sand and silt treatment works are carried out with the modern technologies. Treatment works are carried out by special technology made in Germany without human intervention. The collector’s silt and sand is treated under high pressured water and at the same time the water is absorbed by special equipments. Over 10% of the collector has been treated from sediment by 3 mobile water treatment equipments. According to the project treatment works of Sahil collector will be completed within the next 2 months.

  According to the Action Plan approved Dairevi collector in Yasamal district is intended to be treated.
