“Azersu” OJSC continues successful cooperation with international financial institutions.

    “Azersu” OJSC continues its successful cooperation with international financial institutions on financing the projects under reconstructions of water supply and sanitation systems in regions. 20,22 mln manats from state budget has been allocated for financing Azerbaijan’s share on these projects in 2011. In parallel US$ 35 mln was obtained from World Bank (WB), Asia Development Bank (ADB), Germany KFW Bank and other financial institutions. At the expanse of these funds “Azersu” OJSC carried out works on reconstructions of water supply and sanitation systems in Ganja, Shaki, Shamakhi, Gabala, Agdash and Goychay regions.

    In the frame of “Open Municipal Infrastructure Program I” project financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and Germany KFW Bank the first phases of the works completed in Shaki region. In accordance with the project water intake facility was constructed in the course of Kish River, transmission main was laid, reservoir including chlorination building was rehabilitated. Works on constructions of the water intake sources, reservoirs and transmission mains have been launched in the frame of Reconstruction project on water supply and sewerage system of Ganja town that founded on September 8, 2011.

The first phase of works was completed in Goychay and Agdash regions in the frame of “Urban Water Supply and Sewerage system project” carried out with Asia Development Bank (ADB). In this phase 3 Nos subartesian wells were drilled, a new reservoir including water intake chamber and chlorination building was constructed in Agdash town. At the same time 2km long transmission main was laid and connected to existing water network, a new laboratory building, pumping station were constructed and  new electricity lines ensuring safe performance of pumps were constructed. In addition, new office buildings and industrial premises were constructed for “Agdash Sukanal” SOJSC. In the frame of “Urban Water Supply and Sewerage System” 3 Nos subartesian wells were drilled, water intake chamber and a new reservoir including chlorination building were constructed in Goychay town. In addition pumping station was constructed. In addition, new office building and industrial premises were constructed for “Goychay Sukanal”.

    In the frame of “National Water Supply and Sewerage System” that financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and World Bank (WB) water supply and sewerage systems of Shamakhi, Gabala, Sabirabad and Saatli region are intended to be reconstructed. Under the project the first phase of works completed in Shamakhi and water intake facility, reservoir, pumping and chlorination buildings were built and enforcement dike from stream was constructed.

    In the first phase 6 Nos subartesian wells were drilled, a transmission from wells to water intake chamber main was laid and works on construction of 2Nos reservoirs, chlorination building, transformer substation and laboratory building are being continued. Bids for selection of Contractor Company were declared on Saatli and Sabirabad towns.
