”Azersu” OJSC begins implementation of new project on development of water supply and sewerage system of Shirvan, Neftchala, Salyan, Bilasuvar, Saatli and Sabirabad cities along Kur River. Water provided to the Absheron Peninsula also will be transmitted to 6 cities as well as 147 settlements and villages along new pipeline that will be laid by Kur Water Treatment Plant near Talish region of Hajigabul. Presently transmitting of water with a capacity of 5m3/s by Oguz-Gabala-Baku pipeline to the capital, construction of Water ultra-filtration Treatment Plant with capacity of 6m3/s in the area of Jeyranbatan Water Treatment Plant allows the reduction of water transmitted to Baku. In accordance with the project Bilasuvar, Neftchala, Salyan, Shirvan, Sabirabad and Saatli, as well as villages along the route will be supplied with drinking water by the same pipeline which supplies Baku with drinking water.

The researches shows that water will be transmitted by new line that will be laid from Kur-Baku water pipeline near Hajigabul at 78m high above sea level to Shirvan, Salyan, Neftchala and Bilasuvar by gravity. Drinking water will be transmitted from Kur Water Treatment Plants Compound to Sabirabad and Saatli by gravity. Water problem of 147 villages will be solved by constructing of transmission main that will supply these cities with drinking water.

New project is also very important from the economic point of view. In this case reduction of water transmitted from Kur River to Baku, at the same time to supply surrounding rayons with drinking water by gravity will help to minimize energy costs.
